Steelbridge Assistant Director Men’s Program 

Full Time 11:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday – Friday

Position Summary:

The Assistant Director provides leadership and oversight for the Resident Advisors, ensuring they effectively support residents while embodying Christian values. This role involves active participation in leadership meetings, assisting the Director in daily operations, and addressing resident offenses. The Coordinator fosters resident engagement through daily check-ins, guidance, and support, while managing schedules and coordinating volunteer teachers.

Primary Duties

  • Oversee Resident Advisors, ensuring they perform their duties and set good examples.
  • Support Resident Advisors by providing guidance and ensuring they are not overwhelmed.
  • Participate in weekly leadership meetings, providing input and addressing pressing issues.
  • Assist the Director with daily tasks and decision-making.
  • Approve off-site passes and address resident offenses.
  • Engage with residents, providing encouragement, guidance, and support.
  • Answer inquiries from potential participants and conduct interviews for new residents.
  • Maintain confidentiality of leadership meeting discussions.
  • Ensure effective communication with volunteer teachers, counseling team, and other staff.
  • Address resident issues and concerns promptly and effectively.

Secondary Duties

  • Maintain communication with the counseling team to align schedules and avoid conflicts.
  • Coordinate volunteer teachers, ensuring they have necessary materials and class supplies.
  • Organize off-site trips, providing guidance on required documentation and processes.
  • Monitor attendance and behavior in classes, ensuring residents are punctual and attentive.
  • Track residents' progress through program phases and distribute additional classwork.
  • Assign leadership roles to residents in the disciple phase as needed.
  • Manage the chore board and phone usage privileges for residents.

General Duties

  • Maintain and update leadership packets for relevant staff.
  • Coordinate off-site appointments for residents, including medical visits.
  • Administer drug tests and assist with property searches.
  • Monitor attendance records and address any issues

 Requirements

  • Experience: Previous experience in a leadership role, preferably in a residential or educational setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Organizational and time-management skills.
  • Values: Commitment to promoting Christian values and faithfulness.
  • Certifications: First Aid/CPR certification and any relevant background checks.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed.
