Apologetics

Monday, January 24, 2022 9:39 AM
Monday, January 24, 2022 9:39 AM

We should never apologize to anyone for believing the word of God, for believing the Bible.

No apologies:

Way too many Christians are apologizing for what God said and taught, with the thought, I don’t want to offend anyone. When you apologize for what you believe, it only makes things worse. It’s like throwing chum into the water to a bunch of sharks. It’s not healthy. I will never apologize to anyone anywhere concerning the word of God! We either believe it, or we don’t — either it is absolutely true, or it isn’t.

Established forever in heaven:

We are so overly sensitive concerning the lost that we ourselves are in danger of not believing the word of God. First of all, it is God’s word, not mine. Who am I to apologize for what God said? If living out the scriptures, believing the scriptures, offends someone, so be it. But for me to apologize for what God said, is wrong. We must not only know what we believe, we must learn why we believe it. If God said it, it will never change!

Be bold:

Darkness has a hard time with light. Light repels darkness, and therefore darkness doesn’t like it. Let’s begin to pray and ask God for boldness to speak up when we should and to live out the scriptures — unashamed, unapologetic — and let’s get people saved. Let’s be bold and watch God move.

Proverbs 11:30 (KJV)The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise!

The Zeal of God

Tuesday, January 18, 2022 9:45 AM
Tuesday, January 18, 2022 9:45 AM

When we serve the Lord, that means living life the way He says to, having a great work ethic. As Christians, we should be the best employees. Even ungodly employers should seek after Christian people because of their work ethic.

As unto the Lord:

The Bible does say whatever you do in word or deed, do everything as unto the Lord. How we treat people, how we raise our children, how we talk, and how we think should be dictated by God’s word (the Bible). The only way this is really going to happen — where we see not temporary fixes to our life but permanent ones — is to seek Him, serve Him wholeheartedly.

Wholeheartedly:

Wholeheartedly means with complete sincerity and commitment : genuinely, enthusiastically, energetically. This is the way we should seek and serve Him. It will lead to greater success in our lives — true success, lasting success — if we will seek Him wholeheartedly, expressing our wholehearted support for God’s ways. The only way we truly know His ways is to know His word. He knows what we need and how we receive His blessings. We just need to seek Him wholeheartedly — purposing to do His will and His word, wherever we go and whatever we do.

Halfheartedly:

Halfheartedly means without enthusiasm or energy : lacking heart, spirit, or interest. How are you seeking Him: wholeheartedly or halfheartedly?

Your choice — it’s either one or the other.

Procrastination

Monday, January 10, 2022 9:41 AM
Monday, January 10, 2022 9:41 AM

Procrastination is the sin of wasting — wasting our time and talents that God has given us. Procrastination : the act of willfully delaying the doing of something that should be done : the putting off of something out of habitual carelessness or laziness.

Diligence:

The Bible constantly speaks about being diligent. Colossians 3:23 (ESV) —Whatever you do, work heartily as for the Lord and not for men. God highly values our work and expects us to do our best with the ability He has given us. Proverbs 12 :24 (ESV) — The hand of the diligent will rule, while the slothful will be put to forced labor. You and I need to get things done and not get into the habit of putting stuff off.

Frustration:

Procrastination creates frustration and the sense of being overwhelmed, can cause discouragement and depression; the list could go on. Procrastinators are always looking to put things off until another day. The problem with that is we don’t know if we have another day on this earth. It also causes things to be undone, not finished, to pile up on us.

God blesses those who are diligent, faithful in the little things. So, let’s purpose this year not to be procrastinators, but diligent people, experiencing the blessing of the Lord. If we stop putting things off, we might even find our lives are much more peaceful and prosperous.

New Year, New You

Tuesday, January 4, 2022 9:28 AM
Tuesday, January 4, 2022 9:28 AM

Happy New Year, everyone! Welcome to 2022!

Godliness:

As we look to make changes in our lives — things like getting out of debt, losing weight, working out, etc. — let’s not forget that bodily exercise profits little. I Timothy 4:8 — For bodily exercise profiteth little, but godliness is profitable unto all things, having a promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.

Lasting change:

We need to put God first in every area of our lives. We need to be more heavenly minded than earthly minded. God is the only one who can truly change a life — change a heart. So often in the new year people make New Year’s resolutions only to see them set aside after a couple of weeks. Let’s put God first and believe God for real, lasting change. Let’s seek Him, and seek Him as we never have.

Priorities:

Let’s put God first, spiritual things first, not natural ones. People will go to the gym 4 or 5 times a week and make it a priority. But maybe they’ll go to church once every 4 to 5 weeks, and if they are really dedicated, maybe once every two weeks. It’s no wonder believers are not stronger. It’s about priorities. God first!

So, when thinking about changes we want to make for this new year, maybe we could make church a priority, God’s word a priority, and prayer a priority. Just maybe be more heavenly minded in 2022!

Who’s in Control?

Tuesday, December 28, 2021 9:04 PM
Tuesday, December 28, 2021 9:04 PM

Resilience is defined as the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties, toughness, an ability to recover from or adjust easily to misfortune or change. Resilience is a skill that can and should be developed. It will improve your ability to deal with life’s setbacks.

Characteristics of resilience:

Resilient people are aware of situations, their own emotional reactions, and the behavior of those around them.

Another characteristic of resilience is the understanding that life is full of challenges. This is one skill that will help us move forward and succeed in life.

Resilience gives you a sense of control. Do you perceive yourself as having control over your own life, or are you constantly blaming outside sources for failures and problems? What we need to understand is that all of us have the ability to make choices that will affect our situation, our ability to cope, and our future.

Resilient people are able to find solutions to life’s setbacks — they never give up or quit. They take the hit and then see the solution and move forward. They will identify as a survivor, not a victim.

Inflexibility:

The opposite of being resilient is being depressed or constantly unhappy, being hard, inflexible, rigid. We are developing skills, characteristics, whether we realize it or not. The question is, “Are we developing the skill of being depressed, the skill of unhappiness, or the skill of being resilient?” The choice is yours. Are you rigid, or do you roll with the punches? Are you inflexible or flexible, willing to change? Your call.

I pray you make the right decision.
